Oregon Inlet Lifesaving Station, Outer Banks, NCOregon Inlet Lifesaving Station, Outer Banks, NC

This historic lifesaving station is located at the northern tip of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. First built in 1878 and destroyed twice by fire and weather,it was renovated in 1933-34 and recently underwent a major preservation. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the intriguing architecture is it's enduring legacy.
