I paint in transparent watercolor which means that I rarely use white paint which is opaque. In this painting I challenged myself to depict the white of the drifting snow through washes of lavenders and blues and leaving the white of the paper. It has been the recipient of several awards including the Rifkin Memorial Award in the Pennsylvania Water Color Society Exhibition at the Berman Museum at Ursinus College and the Colson Art Award in the Baltimore Watercolor Society’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Exhibition.
